In this post I want to discuss in detail the VDL Perfect Lasting Foundation and why I believe it’s a must have beauty product. The beauty industry in South Korea, also referred to as K-Beauty, is making waves in the United States. Everything from cushion primers and foundations to blushers and everything in between, including BB, CC, and DD creams, The idea of having skin that is incredibly youthful and translucent fascinates me to no end.
The aesthetic of Korean beauty is very different from the aesthetic of American beauty. The absence of pigmentation and the appearance of skin that is glass-like are two of its primary selling points. It’s all about giving your skin the nutrients it needs to look great even when you’re not wearing any makeup at all.
VDL is a forward-thinking brand that was founded in Seoul, South Korea. The company’s launch in the United States made it that much simpler for me to get my hands on their incredible selection of beauty products. I have been using and adoring their primers for a few months now, particularly the VDL Satin Veil Primer and the VDL Lumilayer Primer. I highly recommend both of them.
VDL Perfect Lasting Foundation in Detail
Next up on my to-try list is VDL Cushion Primer, which has received glowing reviews not only from beauty influencers but also from beauty junkies. When Beautylish first introduced the VDL Perfect Lasting Foundation, which retails for $35 for 30 milliliters, I was immediately interested. However, because I wasn’t certain that there was a true color match for me, it took me several months before I finally ordered it. I cannot believe that it took me this long to finally take the plunge and get it, but now that I have it, I cannot believe how long it took me to get it. This base is the most important thing!
There are a total of twelve different colors available for the VDL Perfect Lasting Foundation. I went with the shade A03 in the end (which is considered a cool light-medium beige; likely I am a good match for V03 as well, which is the warm version). As a point of reference, my NC-25 MAC rating is Even though it’s summertime, there’s a possibility that A03 might be a tad bit too light for my complexion at the moment; however, this is something that can easily be remedied with some bronzer.
I also do not tan my face (for the same reason that I do not tan the rest of my body) because I believe that the sun is extremely damaging to the sensitive skin on my face. As a result, there is always a color difference between my body and my face. A03 is unquestionably the closest shade to my actual face and neck.
Looks Absolutely Stunning On the Skin
The completion of this base is on the very cusp of being reached. It has a finish that is somewhere between velvet and matte, and it looks absolutely stunning on the skin. This foundation already has a primer infused into it for your convenience. I did some experimenting and tried wearing it both with and without the primer, and I was pleased with the results regardless of which method I used.
Because the claims regarding its longevity are entirely accurate, I do not believe that the majority of people will require an additional primer when using this foundation. My personal preference is to use a very small amount of a primer that minimizes pores on my cheeks (closer to my nose), which I believe is my most problematic area.
This foundation is very light, and it feels very comfortable when applied to the skin. The coverage is definitely able to be built up and is of a solid medium level. Although I normally favor a full-coverage foundation for concealing all of my flaws (acne scarring, dark spots, occasional breakouts, etc.), I find that this coverage and finish are extremely effective for me.
It is quite remarkable that the foundation has lasted for such a long time. The heat and humidity of New York City have no effect on it at all. There is not even the slightest bit of wrinkling, let alone any oxidation; just beautiful, velvety smooth skin. Simply unrivaled in excellence!
Just One Pump is Sufficient
Just one pump is sufficient to cover my entire face and neck. I like to dispense one pump onto my hand, then apply the product in a dotted pattern all over my face, and finally blend it in with a damp makeup sponge. It is truly remarkable how little product is required to obtain a flawless finish. Because one bottle can last for several months, the price per unit is very reasonable. Because of its cutting-edge finish, this base is extremely difficult to use too much of.
In the past, I’ve found success with a few different foundations, but I’ve never had the feeling that I’d found THE one of them. The one that would provide excellent oil control, lasting powder (at least 12 hours of wear without separating), and one that looked extremely natural until I tried VDL Perfect Lasting Foundation.
Until then, I had not found a foundation that met all of these requirements. In order to achieve true oil control (especially during the summer when I am extremely oily), I did have to use an old and tried technique of powdering my T-zone before applying foundation. This was necessary because I am very oily. For me, this is not a deal breaker because it is something that I am already accustomed to doing anyway.
You don’t need to look any further if you want your skin to have the look of flawless glass that is neither too matte nor too dewy. My search for the Holy Grail of foundations has finally led me to the VDL Perfect Lasting Foundation. In comparison to other brands based in the United States, the color palette is quite restricted, but we have high hopes that it will be expanded in the very near future. In my opinion, this is an outstanding foundation that can be used on any skin type.
