KAJA Moon Crystals is a K-Beauty brand that specializes in adorable, bite-sized products. Since I have been nothing short of obsessed with all things K-Beauty, it should come as no surprise that it caught my eye because of the brand’s specialty. KAJA Moon Crystals Sparkling Eye Pigment can only be purchased at Sephora (along with the rest of the brand’s offerings) and costs $16 for 0.29 ounces (or 8.5 grams) of product.
When I was younger, the concept of a single shadow was one of my greatest pet peeves (including pigments and pretty much anything that was single). I always chose large eyeshadow palettes so I could get a lot of different looks from a single product. On the other hand, as of late, I’ve been gravitating more and more toward singles because they are not only simple but also quick to apply, making them the ideal choice for a speedy morning routine. When I was in my neighborhood Sephora, I came across a new Korean beauty brand called KAJA, which immediately piqued my interest.
The collection includes a total of eight colors, all of which are breathtakingly beautiful.
01 Goddess: shimmering brozne
02 Luminary: shimmering champagne
03 Tiger’s Eye: shimmering brown taupe
04 Rose Quartz: shimmering rose duo -chrome
05 Mystical: shimmering soft lavender color
06 Cosmic: simmering teal
07 Enchantment: shimmering amethyst
08 Dark Matter: shimmering royal blue
The end result was that I purchased Goddess and Magic (and am planning to add Mystical to my collection in the very near future). Both colors possessed opaque pigmentation that applied to my lid in a single layer in a way that was even and smooth, and it blended out nicely along the edges. I began by applying it with my finger, and then I blended it out on my lid with both my finger and a small synthetic brush. Finally, I went around the edges with my finger.
This was a new and interesting experience for me because the consistency is almost like that of jelly. When I put it between my fingers, it felt thick, but once I applied it to my lid, it was surprisingly light. These did not feel heavy at all. These shadows dry down EXTREMELY rapidly, which meant that I needed to work very quickly to ensure that my placement was exactly where I wanted it to be before it completely dried down to a powder finish. When I first bought them, I had the impression that they would still have their glossy appearance after being applied (but I was wrong in that assumption).
Kaja Moon Crystals Colors Are Stunning
The colors are stunning and make for a very striking and reflective look, both of which I think are great for everyday wear. On the other hand, I did run into some difficulties when it came to layering both colors. When I tried to build up the intensity of the Magic color for the evening, I ended up with a texture that felt very chunky and gritty on my lid.
This was a problem because it made my eye look like it was covered in sand. Because of this, I do not advise attempting to apply more than one layer of these pigments at a time. For me, this is not a deal breaker; however, it is definitely something to keep in mind for those who like to layer different products.
Extremely Simple To Put Into Use
Priming my lids, which is something I do on a daily basis but did not do when I was first testing out the products, did not make a difference in terms of improving application or extending the wear of the product. The pigments each performed in a manner that was comparable to the others.
I find the concept of using a liquid, mousse- or jelly-like pigment rather than the more conventional loose pigment, which can frequently be quite a bit of work, to be absolutely fascinating. These are EXTREMELY simple to put into use. The Blue Brown Pigment from Mac Cosmetics is one of my all-time favorite pigments, and it comes to mind whenever I think of magic.
In general, despite the problem with layering (which I am personally able to overlook), I am still able to give these a yes because of how simple they are to use and the gorgeous color range they offer.
