If you have been reading my blog, you probably already know that I am unable to pass up the opportunity to try a brand-new glow product. In this case it’s the Jouer Cosmetics Molten Glow Highlighter, and in spite of the fact that I keep telling myself that they are beginning to look the same once they are applied to the face, I just could not resist purchasing this breathtaking, limited edition release.
One of my go-to brands is Jouer Cosmetics, and their highlighters are top-notch. Jouer Cosmetics is one of my favorite brands overall (I own almost every single one). In contrast to the other highlighters that are already available from the brand, the newly introduced Molten Glow All Over Face and Body Highlighter is noticeably different in some significant ways.
Jouer Cosmetics Molten Glow Highlighter
Not only does the Jouer Cosmetcs Molten Glow Highlighter ($28 for 0.35 oz) have a stunning appearance, but it is also an outstanding bargain. Additionally, it includes a Kabuki brush, which is ideal for applying highlighter to the body but is not present in the brand’s original highlighters. And is it possible that we could discuss the packaging? It is a dream come true for people who are obsessed with collecting and packaging. The glittering compact is absolutely ideal for a highlighter of such magnificent quality. My chest tightens with excitement every time I catch a glimpse of it on my vanity.
The formulation features an extremely fine shimmer of high intensity, which produces a dazzling glow. Even though it has the consistency of powder highlighter, it almost feels like cream when you apply it. The powder has the consistency of butter and melts into the skin, leaving a high-impact glow in its wake. The glow has such a strong impact that it makes me feel as if extraterrestrials can see me glowing with light from far away in space, which is exactly how I like it. It has a glow that will steal the show.
Warm undertones are present in the color, which can be described as a light-to-medium gold. It reminds me of one of my all-time favorite highlighters, the ABH Amrezy Highlighter (which was also a limited edition item and will always have a special place in my heart). Amrezy, on the other hand, does not contain nearly as much glitter as Molten Glow does, despite the fact that the two belong to the same family of colors. The Jouer formula yields a striking metallic finish that is exceptionally intense.
Due to the fact that this formula is intended to be used on both the face and the body, it is on the “thicker” side. This, in turn, naturally results in some highlighting of the skin’s natural texture. It’s not a deal breaker for me personally given how gorgeous the glow is, but if you do decide to buy this product, it’s certainly something you should keep in mind as a potential drawback. Following some practice with a variety of application methods, I noticed very little highlighting of the texture of my skin.
Buffing was the application technique that worked best for me when I used a synthetic brush on my face. I used my own brush, not the kabuki that came with the product. The motion of buffing helps to “melt” this highlighter into the skin, making it more effective. I applied it all over my body with the Kabuki brush that came with the product, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.
The highlighter did not move at all over the course of a full day (over 12 hours of wear time), which is the kind of performance that I have come to anticipate from glow products. On the body, it lasted for the same amount of time and did not transfer onto my clothes because it remained locked in place; this is a significant advantage.
Because this baby is part of a limited edition, you better get to your local Sephora as quickly as you can while it’s still in stock! On Jouer’s own website, there is no longer any available stock. It is truly unique and a wonderful addition to any collection; there is no question about that.
Until next time.
I’m a highlighter addict living in your neighborhood with love.
