Even though the modern beauty market is already full of products endorsed by celebrities or made by them, Lady Gaga and Sarah Tanno, who has been Lady Gaga’s makeup artist for many years, have decided to go all in. Earlier in the summer, Gaga gave a sneak peek at the launch by saying, “They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” However, here at Haus Labs by Lady Gaga, we believe that beauty is a matter of perspective. While many businesses have a tendency to concentrate on conforming to the standards of the rest of the industry, Lady Gaga, who is true to herself, desires to be unique.
Haus Labs by Lady Gaga in Detail
Her vision is for makeup that is big and bold for everyone, including women and men (with an eye toward targeting more of the LGBTQ community). The promotional photographs showcase a wide range of models, both male and female, of different races and ethnicities (very few brands use men as models for makeup). Does Haus Laboratories live up to its reputation, given that its price range falls roughly in the middle of that of its competitors? Let’s find out…
At the moment, Haus Labs by Lady Gaga consists of five products, some of which have more than one function or use: a lip liner (which comes in six different colors), a lip gloss (which also comes in six different colors), liquid eyeshadow (which comes in six different colors), liquid eyeliner (which comes in some sets with wingtip stickers to make application easier), and a face masque armor sticker. The packaging is very stylish and beautiful, and I couldn’t help but think of Lady Gaga when I saw it. I really like the little details, and they all look really nice displayed on my vanity.
I Ended Up Purchasing 1 Product in each Category to Test the Waters

Before moving on to colors that are more daring and out of the ordinary, I thought it would be best to determine whether or not I liked the products offered by the brand by using colors that were considered to be “safe.”
The Lady Gaga Haus Labs Liquid Eyeshadow – in Aphrodite is a beautiful champagne with iridescent pearls of different colors. When I first tried it out on my arm, I was a little skeptical, but as soon as I put it on my eyelids, I could literally see the magic happening in front of my very eyes. To begin, the color is incredible in every single way. It has such an exquisite sheen that is ideal for day-to-day wear because it is so refined and sophisticated.
The texture is absolutely exquisite. It can be applied as sheerly as you like, or you can build it up to a really intense shimmering finish, neither of which will cause the product to feel heavy or look overdone. It is a seamless combination that gradually builds up. Using only my finger, blending was a quick and simple process.
Because it takes some time to set, you have the freedom to position it exactly how you want to. After it dried, my eyelids had the appearance of being wet, which is a look that I adore, but the product itself was completely dry. At first, I thought it was very similar to Stila’s liquid eyeshadow formula, of which I happen to be a fan. However, it is definitely unique, as blending Stila’s liquid eyeshadow requires more effort than blending Haus’s liquid eyeshadow does.
I also used it on my lips, and I couldn’t get enough of the shimmer it gave them! Because it can be hard to get the right consistency for both eyes and lips with the same product, I have tried quite a few products that can be used for both eyes and lips, but I haven’t found one that I love using for both. This was accomplished without a hitch by Haus. I absolutely cannot wait until I get more colors, particularly the Dynasty color (a sunny emerald green that I have my eye on).
The Lady Gaga Haus Labs Lip Liner – in Myth is a neutral mauve with a midtone. These lip liners are designed to be used on their own in place of the traditional step of applying a lip liner and then choosing a lipstick color. A single product that can be used to both line and fill the lips. As a result of the fact that I do that quite frequently with other brands of lip liner that I have used over the years, I am a supporter of the general idea.
The application of this lip liner completely blew my mind from the very beginning. The pigmentation is out of this world, and with just one stroke, I was able to build up to an opaque finish. The finish is demi-matte and incredibly comfortable to wear thanks to the texture. Even though I ate and drank throughout the majority of the day, there was no change in its intensity, and it did not move at all. Haus Labs by Lady Gaga formulation has completely won me over, and I believe that it will prove to be a successful launch product for the brand that is being introduced here.
This Lady Gaga Haus Labs Lip Gloss – in Venus comes in a peachy pink shade. While I absolutely adored the first two products that I talked about, this gloss left me feeling a little underwhelmed. In spite of the fact that the recipe claims to be non-sticky, I found that it was actually quite sticky. I found it to be extremely tacky and sticky, as well as extremely thick (not something I love in a lip gloss).
My High Expectations Were More Than Met
Because of the likelihood that your hair will become entangled in your lips if you wear this formula when it is extremely windy outside, you should never let anyone catch you wearing it in those conditions. When I used a very small amount of it on top of a matte lipstick or liner, I was able to make it work, but when I used it on its own, it was a complete failure for me. Given the high expectations I had for the brand as a whole and the fact that I am a fan of Gaga, I really wanted to adore this.
In general, I am pretty content with the Haus Labs by Lady Gaga purchase that I made. My high expectations were more than met by the lip liner and the liquid shadow, but the gloss fell a little bit short of what I was hoping for. Whatever the case may be, I believe that it is a very strong start for this young brand, and I cannot wait to see the expansion of the range in the not too distant future.
