Mac Prep + Prime Fix Scents does not require an introduction because it is self-explanatory. It is highly regarded among members of a subculture. If you are at all interested in makeup, there is a good chance that you are familiar with this multipurpose workhorse. We were lucky enough to get our hands on a total of five of MAC’s limited edition fragrances for this cult classic this past summer. The fragrances that most piqued my interest led to my acquisition of a total of three of them. And I just can’t get enough of these flirty and alluring aromas, no matter how hard I try.
Mac Prep + Prime Fix Scents Makes Skin More Refreshed
When you use Mac Prep + Prime Fix Scents, your skin will be more hydrated, look more refreshed, and your makeup will last longer. In addition to that, I frequently use it to wet the eyeshadow brushes that I use. This is a standard tool that everyone needs to have in their arsenal.
This summer’s limited edition release featured fragrances in sizes that are convenient for travel (all are 30 milliliters or one fluid ounce, with the exception of one that is a full size and is exclusive to Ulta; you can find it HERE). Each bottle of this mini prep + prime fix comes adorned with extremely childlike and whimsical deco-style murals. These are just the cutest things ever!

The excellent mister is one of the best features of MAC Prep + Prime Fix Scents (including the first version, which I have been using for almost ten years), and it is one of the best features overall. It dispenses the ideal and consistent amount of the spray at each and every time. So many of the other sprays I’ve tried dispensed either too little or too much, resulting in a messy experience.
This MAC Prep + Prime Fix Scents spray got the balance just right. There is never a problem with MAC’s sprays, which is a major advantage. If you need to powder your face to prevent oils from reaching the surface, spraying your face with this after applying powder will help the powder blend into your skin and keep you from appearing cakey. If you have over-powdered your face, this also works like magic to calm down the over-powdered look by dispensing a few gentle sprays. This setting spray is also great for foiling metallic eyeshadows, especially the ones in my favorite Natasha Denona palettes. In fact, I almost never use those shadows without Fix+. Simply gather some of the eyeshadow onto your brush, and then spritz it with some Fix+. It helps prevent fallout from powdery shadows and also keeps eyeshadow in place for a longer period of time.
You can use it to bring out the color of matte shadows as well, but it works best with shimmery and metallic shadows. However, you can also use it with matte shadows. Before I apply highlighter to my face, I frequently spray my face with this spray first. I do this because I am a fan of dazzling highlights. The glow that is ultimately produced ends up being very blinding (just the way I like it). And finally, this spray is wonderful for simply reviving the skin whenever it feels tired or dull during the course of the day. I never leave home without at least one miniature bottle, particularly when the weather is hot.
Because it can be put to so many different uses, in my opinion, this spray deserves to be compared to the Holy Grail. These fragrances are absolute necessities if you’re looking for fun and flirty aromas to wear. You shouldn’t wait too long if you want to add to our arsenal, because these are limited edition. Even during the coldest months of winter, they have the ability to make you think of summer. Plus, who could say no to these adorable bottles that are travel-friendly?
